Donna Snow's wonderful and sometimes whacky fiber and polymer clay
art dolls are dressed in unusual hand worked fabrics, embellished
with any zany thing available, often recycled and reworked odds
and ends.
They are one of a kind, finely crafted, contemporary, figurative
art dolls. Each is a unique human, animal or masked form, ranging
in size from 5 to 25 inches. No repeat patterns are used and many
dolls come with an accompanying short story or poem.
After receiving a BA and an MA in Art Donna has been teaching college
or studio art since 1960. Her own work is carried in fine craft
shops and galleries.
Presently, Donna's dolls can be found at Earth Impacts in Half Moon
Bay, California, The Art Mine at the Inn at Port Hadlock, Port Hadlock,
WA and The Web.sters in Ashland, Oregon. Dolls can also be purchased
on line directly from the artist.
Donna resides in Port Townsend, Washington, where she maintains
her studio-workshop and teaches doll making and fabric embellishing.
She also does lectures and trunk shows for requesting groups.
She accepts commissions for art dolls that include special themes
or unusual parts of personal clothing, jewelry, or found objects
that have a sentimental or historical value for the owner.
